With many years experience working as a Senior PA / Office Manager with excellent Human Resources and Administration experience I developed this blog to show what I can bring for businesses in the North East of England. In my leisure time homes are my passion and so I've captured things that I've done in my home and garden.

Enhancing the Colour

With a little bit of elbow grease, the use of my jet washer, coarse sandpaper and Ronseal English Oak wood stain this dull patio and its furniture have been transformed bringing colour back to the garden.

garden furniture in need of some attention...
...weather beaten from rain and cold
after a jet wash, sand and some TLC...

...we are sure you will agree the colour is lovely and natural

grey and dull...

...the process mid-way
to clean and pink...
...what a difference in only a few hours

The completed patio...colourful and ready for summer

Olympic Support

In April 2012 I saw an advert asking for volunteers to support others in the smooth running of the football matches that would take place in July 2012.

I was so happy on 15 May to be told that I had been accepted as an Olympic Ambassador and will carry out official training on 28 and 29 June 2012.

The shifts I will be cover are: -
Thursday 26 July 215pm to 845pm = 6 hours
Sunday 29 July 2pm to 830pm = 6 hours
Friday 3 August 2pm to 830pm = 6 hours
Total = 18 hours

If you would like to sponser me for the time I will spend I would like to donate any money raised to the charity, Born To Be Beautiful.  Please contact me and I will send you further information on how you can donate.

Whilst I will receive a voucher for my lunch I will have to pay for my own travel costs on all days I am volunteering (£10 approximately); however I will also donate £1 for each hour I volunteer (£18) towards the charity.

I'm looking forward to being involved in such an exciting time!

Combating Damp

I can't say I was particularly thrilled to be faced with this challenge but when given a task I'm always one to attack it with gusto.  I think the photos speak for themselves...method used; LOTS and LOTS of neat bleach, central heating on full and doors and windows wide open.  Basically for any damp problems just remember three fundamental things - clean it, heat it, ventilate it!

The kitchen ceiling, wall and extractor fan were
heavily coated in thick black damp spores

It took almost two hours to get this clean

bedroom wallpaper....

....was too far gone to clean....

so, after several hours later; paper removed....

...and walls were cleaned ready for painting

under this window, the mould had developed...

but after a few hours of scrubbing with
bleach and some ventilation cleanliness was restored

In this corner we again added neat bleach
and left it for a few hours...

....added some muscle power to reveal a nice clean corner
